Today was my first day alone but the transportation system here is pretty darn easy so getting around wasn't a problem.
After booking tickets to Grouse Mountain for tomorrow (from some very nice people at the tourism centre downtown) I ran to catch the bus to Stanley Park. A guy who was there said we just missed it. It was a good thing I guess, because we had some time to talk. Turns out he had done arts and engineering like myself by dropped it halfway to do music. He gave me some places I should check out around town. Seriously, people here are great.
Though it was an overcast day it didn't start raining until late afternoon, so I walked around most of the seawall, stopped for a salmon burger at one of the fancy cafes (because I had forgotten to bring food) and walked through the park via Beaver Lake and then to Vancouver Aquarium.
While I thought I would see heaps of squirrels in the park I only saw three, but couldn't get any decent shots of them because they're so damn fast and will run away if it knows you are there.
On the topic of animals though, my new favourite mammal is now the sea otter. What an awesome little creatures they are. I have video of them eating, it's so great haha.
I am on the bus back home but have just finished eating a delicious kurobuta 'hotdog' from one of these Japadog stalls around downtown. Very tasty.
