Got travel insurance.
Tip: Don't buy it through a travel agent, or any company that can afford to screen tv adverts on a regular basis. Do some research online (making sure of course that the company is actually a real company one) and then buy it online! I've paid almost half of what a travel agent quoted me and saved about ten percent less than an online quote through one of those bigger insurance companies.
The only thing which I haven't done now is pay the deposit for my accommodation. I'm holding off a bit because the NZ dollar is really not looking so well against the yen. For every yen the dollar gains I save about $100 and vice versa. It's sitting at about 63JPY to the dollar, down from 68JPY two months ago. So hopefully it jumps up within the next ten days.
In other news: I've scored a full time job at the place I did my last summer intership. It's an ice cream factory.
