Regarding DK House Sapporo. All I can say is, it's everything DK House Warabi should be. Starting with some pictures...
The lounge area.
Dining area and kitchen in the background.
My room. Anything look familiar?
BUT WHAT IS THIS. A FRIDGE FREEZER?!
While much is the same, there are some small but appreciable differences.
- Laundry machines are free. Free. You just have to provide your own detergent.
- Toilets are the heated-seat kind with all the buttons you'll ever need. No useless button which makes an unpleasantly fake water flushing noise.
- Hot water comes out of the taps hot.
- The bedding comes with an extra thick layer of soft goodness which is sooo comfortable. And the top cover is a patterned, fleecy, soft blanket instead of a sterile white sheet.
- The closet comes with about 10 hangers, instead of two.
- A gas fired heater which warms the room (despite the bitter negative temperatures) within two minutes.
- The manager seems ok.
- The place is just generally much nicer. Carpet floors in most places, bar the hallways.
- And did I mention that the rooms have a fridge-freezer?
But before I completely write off DK House Warabi, it does have some things over Sapporo. The kitchen here is tiny and filthy. And for some mysterious reason, about half the wash basins and urinals have "out of order" signs on them. There may possibly also be a problem with only seven showers and four washing machines for the whole guesthouse.
